YEARS OF COMBINED EXPERTISE IN ACCOUNTING

Brian and Dan first met in 2003, just before beginning their training for the U.S. Army Special Forces. From day one, they were side by side – training, learning, pushing each other forward. After graduating as Green Berets, they were assigned to the same unit, the same ODA, and shortly after, deployed together to Iraq. For eight intense months, they operated in continuous combat, always as a team always together. That experience forged a bond that would last a lifetime.

Over the next decade, they remained teammates, deploying throughout Central and South America, including El Salvador and the Middle East. While serving, they discovered a shared passion for business, investing, and lifelong learning. That interest eventually led them to a former Vietnam-era Green Beret, named Phil Town – a hedge fund manager whose investing seminars Brian and Dan we would go on to teach across the country.

EDUCATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Driven by their passion to excel Brian and Dan both pursued MBAs and launched businesses – Dan dove into franchise ownership while Brian co-founded Vail Brewing Company. Their shared experience only strengthened their brotherhood and over the years they stood in each other’s weddings, built companies, and never stopped learning and pushing each other.

Eventually, their paths led both into franchising: Dan as a multi-unit franchise owner and founder of Guerrilla Franchising, and Brian on the Operations and front office side of the house. It was there they saw the same issue come up time and time again – the biggest barrier to success for franchisees and small business owners wasn’t the product, the service, or the strategy. It was their books. Poor financial records and a lack of practical financial insight were holding people back and in some cases driving them out of business.
